The fundamental truth of Christianity is about relationships—our relationship with God and each other. We welcome you to make your journey toward Jesus Christ in the company and care of others.

Feed the Hungry
Emanuel Lutheran Church gladly supports a variety of food related initiatives to address food insecurity:

  • Community Food Drive: Members donate non-perishables on a year-round, ongoing basis to the Quinsigamond Community Center, families of young children at the Guild of St. Agnes and the Quinsigamond Elementary School.
  • Cathedral In the Night: Cathedral in the Night is an outdoor Christian community in downtown Northampton, MA which seeks to create a safe place for all people. On an annual basis, ELC members contribute trays of shepherds pie, snacks and drinks to support this important mission.
  • End Hunger NE: This non-profit organization food packaging events to feed those who hunger in our neighborhoods. Whether acting as host site, or participating at a fellow Lutheran church, members are fulfilled knowing they are making a difference in their local community.

“We Care Kits"
To aid the growing number of homeless people, congregants donate useful items such as socks, toothbrushes, bottled water, snacks, Dunkin gift cards etc., which are packaged in gallon sized ziplock bags and made available to hand out on an as needed basis.

Back-to-School Supplies
Support for local students is provided through our backpack and school supply drive through our connection with the local Quinsigamond Elementary School.

The Giving Tree
This annual Christmas tradition of buying gifts supports the efforts of Florence House, local nursing home facilities, and the students of the Quinsigamond Elementary School.

Worship Choir -"One Who Sings, Prays Twice" ~ St. Augustine
Worship services and various events are made special with the gift of voices together in harmony. Led by our Director of Music, our choir rehearses before and after Sunday services (no midweek rehearsals). The ELC choir is small but mighty and extremely appreciated by the congregation.

Adult Bible Study
Bible study helps us to understand and connect God's Word with our everyday lives. ELC adult bible study sessions stalled during the pandemic, but we are actively striving to reestablish a consistent schedule to meet and learn about the word of God. Whether in person or virtual, please let us know of your interest by contacting the church office.
